In this class, students will learn how to use colored pencils effectively to create beautiful and vibrant drawings. Topics covered include understanding color theory and value, exploring various mark-making techniques, creating textures, and rendering light and shadow to give subjects a realistic 3D appearance on paper. Colored pencils are a user-friendly and accessible medium. No prior experience with colored pencils is necessary — just bring your creativity and a willingness to learn! Materials will be provided for the first class and then a recommended list of personal materials to purchase will be discussed.
