First Stage Theater Academy is the nation’s largest, high-impact theatre training program for young people! Whether you are an aspiring performer or just want to build confidence and make new friends, there is no better place than the Academy. All theatre classes at the Wilson Center are taught by First Stage instructors.

STORY DRAMA (GRADES K4-2) • $160

In our Story Drama classes, students are guided though creative drama activities that encourage self-expression, concentration, and cooperation. Students in Story Drama will bring a tale to life by recreating characters and scenes from the First Stage productions of The Cat in the Hat (winter session) and Judy Moody and Stink: The Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Treasure Hunt (spring session).
SCENE STUDY (GRADES 3-4) • $160

Dive into a script and put your acting skills to work! This class will bring the characters on the page to life on stage. Join us all year long for new text each session.

Acting technique is the foundation of performance, and actors spend a lifetime training and honing their skills. While working as an ensemble, students will build skills in character development, script work, and physical and vocal expression. We hope you will join us all year long!
