Artist Talk and Reception: Compassing Nature

  • Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts 3270 Mitchell Park Drive Brookfield, WI 53045 (map)

Join us for a free artist talk and reception on Friday, April 5th from 6:00pm–7:30pm.

March 8 through June 9, 2024 – Forest excursions are reinvented in the prints and paintings of Julia Scheckel and Beth Stoddard. Personal on-site photographs and plein air oil sketches form the basis for many-layered pieces worked out in the print shop and studio. Direct observation, sensory memory, and love for the process of artmaking itself offer the viewer shared experiences of woodland beauty.

Stay after the reception for a concert with Myriam Gendron in the Studio

Folk – French Canadian singer-songwriter, Myriam Gendron, has released two critically acclaimed albums. Not so Deep as a Well sets the poetry of Dorothy Parker to new music and Ma Délire – Songs of love, lost & found, is a very modern exploration of North American folk tales and traditional melodies. Her Milwaukee debut will include songs from both albums as well as music slated for her next recording.

Tickets $30.
