Celebrate the sixth annual international Wilson Center Guitar Festival with a blues and rock & roll legend!

Although Elvin Bishop has been performing his rollicking brand of electrified front porch blues for more than 50 years (his first professional gig was as guitarist for Junior Wells’ band in 1962), he is as vital and creative an artist today as he was when he first hit the national scene in 1965 with The Paul Butterfield Blues Band. His re-emergence on Alligator Records in the late ’80s and into the ’90s, along with his more recent releases on Blind Pig and Delta Groove and his 2016 induction into both the Blues and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ensure his place on the short list of bona fide guitar heroes. Featuring Bishop with guitarist/pianist Bob Welsh and percussionist/vocalist Willy Jordan, the trio forges a new blues and R&B sensibility, colored by distinctive, stripped-down instrumentation and shot through with an exuberant, down-home vibe. In other words: Big Fun.
