VOLUNTEER TO BE A GREENSHIRT

VOLUNTEER!

Do you love working with kids and in the fine arts?! We are looking for energetic and responsible high school and college students to serve as camp counselors, or what we call “Greenshirts”. Greenshirts serve as an integral part of Arts Camp and help create lasting memories not only for the campers, but themselves as well! This is a great opportunity to volunteer to gain service hours, college application service or a resume building opportunity.

When you can help: Preference will be given to applicants who can do both weeks, but you may choose to sign up for just one.

Greenshirts will arrive at 7:30am and leave at 3:30pm all days for both sessions. If a Greenshirt would like to stay until 5:00 to help with aftercare that is welcomed.

Greenshirts will take two 30min breaks throughout the day in addition to lunch but must stay on the premises.

GREENSHIRT CAMP ROLES:

Group Leader: Works with 1-2 green shirts to lead a group of 10-15 campers through their schedules for the day. Group leaders should have these qualities:

  • Enthusiastic: Encouraging campers to try new things and make camp a positive fun place to be.

  • Responsible: Helping with campers needs, keeping safety in mind.

  • Focused: Able to remember that their job is to be helpful and facilitate camp running smoothly.

Classroom Assistant: Helps set up room in morning. Runs errands for teacher. Refills supplies when needed. Fill in as Leader when needed. Helps with lunch supervision and bathroom breaks. May be needed to take photos during class.

Camp Photographer: Utilizes Wilson Center (or personal, if wanted) camera to take photos throughout the day of camp life. Stops in each classroom to get action and candid shots. Helps with supervision of lunch and breaks while also taking photos.
