Nova Linea Contemporary Dance is proud to revitalize “Bloom & Decline”, featuring new sections, new dancers, and an expanded vision for the work. This remount marks a new chapter in the life of the piece and includes a special collaboration with the Guest Artists from our Professional Intensive with the Performance Experience.

“Bloom & Decline” explores the unique, complex, and ever-changing concept of time. In the first half, the work approaches time from a youthful perspective—one where time feels abundant, and each moment accumulates into a growing archive of experiences. What do we do with time when we aren’t yet aware of its limits? After intermission, the perspective shifts. Time begins to feel finite, and with that awareness comes the weight of choice—how to spend it, what to prioritize, and what to let go of. 

On Tuesday August 4th, Nova Linea’s performance of “Bloom & Decline” will also include a special celebration honoring the stage retirement of Megan Kelty and Sydney Goeman—two original company artists and longtime rehearsal assistants—whose dedication and presence have helped shape Nova Linea since its founding.
