After immigrating from Mexico at age five, Jesús grew up in a small town in southeastern Wisconsin, across from a corn field. His house was always filled with music, and he began playing guitar at age 10. By high school he was writing music and performing professionally. For a while Jesús' artistic ambitions took a backseat to other callings as he pursued his higher education on the East Coast, North Carolina, and even London. He built a career in human resources law and diversity advocacy. But he never left music far behind. Jesús wrote and composed several musical theater productions before forming a new band in 2008 (Jesús still performs around the Milwaukee area with The Front Porch Rockers). In 2017, Jesús reinvigorated his songwriting pursuits when he co-founded the Kangaroo Lake Songwriters Collective. He began writing and recording new material, started Dad's Red Chair Music publishing company, and in August 2020 he released The Lone Pine Sessions, his first solo EP - performed and recorded by himself in his basement and at a friend's cabin. Jesús continues his professional career protecting workers' rights. But he also continues to write, perform, record, and release original music. He hosts monthly livestream concerts on his social media, and continues to coach other songwriters.
