We Six presents Dizzy, Dameron, and Monk in a 100th Birthday Celebration!
Dizzy Gillespie, Tadd Dameron, and Thelonious Monk were three of the most influential musicians of the Bebop era. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the births of these musical geniuses, We Six will perform some of their best-known compositions, including “A Night in Tunisia,” “If You Could See Me Now,” and “‘Round Midnight.” A consistent favorite of festivals and clubs, We Six is now in its fifteenth season of residency at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, where the members teach and perform regularly in concert. The group features trumpeter Eric Jacobson, tenor saxophonist Eric Schoor, guitarist Paul Silbergleit, pianist Mark Davis, bassist Jeff Hamann, and drummer Dave Bayles.
