Yevgeniya Kaganovich
Inhabit/infest

through February 23

Yevgeniya Kaganovich has created a site specific artwork for installation in the Ploch Art Gallery. The primary medium of this installation will be sheets of latex that will drape from the ceilings, extend over the walls, and transform the space. Kaganovich, in writing about her own work says, "inhabit/infest implies that the Center is more than an edifice for art and culture; it is a living organism that we too are a part of."

Yevgeniya Kaganovich is a Belarus born, Milwaukee, Wisconsin based artist, whose hybrid practice encompasses Jewelry and Metalsmithing, sculpture and installation. Yevgeniya has received a Masters of Fine Arts from the State University of New York at New Paltz and a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Metal/Jewelry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Yevgeniya has been an active art practitioner since 1992, exhibiting her work nationally and internationally. Her work has received a number of awards and has been published widely.

LATEX WARNING:

Visitors with latex sensitivities should note that the current exhibit in the Wilson Center’s Ploch Art Gallery uses latex as its primary medium.
