Pallavi Mahidhara Friday, February 24, 2012, 8:00 pm Known for her artistic versatility, Pallavi Mahidhara combines mature musical insight, an astounding technique, and a charismatic stage presence. Her repertoire covers an extensive range, from standard classical works, to music of contemporary and living composers, to works of jazz composers. Born in 1987, Pallavi made her orchestral debut at the age of 10, performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 with the Disney’s Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra at the Ravinia Festival in Chicago. Pallavi was also prize winner at the Milwaukee-based PianoArts competition in 2006 when she was only 18 years old. She has appeared in solo and orchestral concerts in many prestigious concert halls around the world. She is currently studying under the tutelage of Dimitri Bashkirov at La Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia in Madrid. In May 2010, she graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music with a Bachelor’s of Music in Piano Performance, as a student of Ignat Solzhenitsyn.
