The Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts is one of the finest nonprofit multidisciplinary cultural arts centers in the United States. Led by President & CEO Lynn Sprangers, the Wilson Center presents more than 50 world-class artists and ensembles each season in seven different artistic series, including the Performing Arts Series, Classical Progressions Series, Club Series, Matinee Series, Family Tales by the Fire, Starry Nights, and the Beyond the Classroom Series for Students. Now in our 15th Anniversary Season, the Center has grown to impact the lives of more than 45,000 visitors each year, including more than 9,000 students in grades PreK-12 throughout our Southeast Wisconsin community.
It is the mission of the Wilson Center to be the catalyst for lifelong learning and discovery of the arts. Students of all ages and abilities are able to expand their perspective and tap into their creative side through year-round visual arts classes, and the Center exhibits the work of professional and emerging visual artists throughout the year in the Ploch Art Gallery, Lynn Chappy Arts Education Wing, and Lynn Chappy ArtsPark—a vibrant, outdoor sculpture landscape designed to engage and inspire. In August, the annual international Wilson Center Guitar Festival celebrates the greatest guitarists of today and tomorrow with simultaneous competitions in four different genres (Classical, Fingerstyle, Jazz, and Rock & Blues), concert performances, master classes, and industry exhibits. Some of Southeast Wisconsin’s finest arts organizations offer professional instruction at the Wilson Center, including First Stage Theater Academy, Trinity Irish Dancers, and the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music.
