Mask Making (ages 5-7)
Friday, June 14, 1:00 – 4:00pm
Students will learn about many of the cool animals that call Wisconsin home and bring animals to life that only live in their imaginations. Each student will choose an animal, real or imagined, to make into a colorful mask to take home and enjoy!

Chalk Animation (ages 13-18)
Saturday, June 15, 1:00 – 4:30pm or

Saturday, August 10, 1:00 – 4:30pm
Ever wonder how to make a drawing move? Want to create an animated picture? This is your class! Work collaboratively in small groups to create your own Stop-Art Animation. In this class we will use chalk and digital photography to make your images come to life. We will also talk about the work of acclaimed Stop-Art Animation artist Blu Chalk and how he creates his in-depth works. Your creations will be made into a video and sent to you.

Art Club (students entering 4th, 5th, or 6th grade)
Fridays, July 19 - August 23, 10:00am - 12:30pm
This is an art club where you’re in charge! Work with instructor and artist Sarah Janowski to develop and create art work based off of your own original ideas. Using various mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture and collage, you will be able to explore art in innovative ways that allow your creativity to shine. All students will also have the opportunity to display their work during the Wilson Center’s Hidden River Art Festival this fall.

Watercolor Painting (ages 10-12)
Tuesdays, July 23 – August 20, 3:30 – 5:00pm

Using traditional watercolor techniques students will learn how to plan and execute a painting using a photograph as reference. In this class we will look at many examples of how photographs translate to paint. This class will provide opportunities for problem solving and help show students how to transform any image into a work of art!

Short Story Ink Creatures (ages 7-9)
Wednesdays, July 24 – August 14, 1:00 – 2:00pm
Set your imagination free! This class promotes creative thought and encourages students to use their ingenuity through the use of ink. Students will learn about artist Ann Tarantino and create their own inkblot creatures. They will also have the opportunity to practice their creative writing skills by creating a short story about their creature.

Pop-Art Portraits (ages 11 -14)
Wednesdays, July 24 – August 14, 3:00 – 4:00pm

Explore the use of color and texture to express yourself in this course. You will learn to use a grid to draw and paint a self-portrait. Follow in the footsteps of master artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Jasper Johns!

Students will go outside and use nature as inspiration to create art! Students will learn drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture basics as they explore the natural world.

Outdoor Explorations (ages 8-10)
Thursdays, July 25-August 15, 10:00 – 11:30am

Explore the great outdoors and make art about what you discover! Students will learn drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture techniques in this class, as well as nurture a sense of adventure!

Handmade Paper Kites! (ages 10-13)
Saturday, August 3, 1:00 – 5:00pm

Let your imagination soar in this one day workshop! Learn techniques in printmaking, drawing, painting and collage to decorate Japanese rice paper that will be used as the body of the kite. Kites will be both beautiful and functional.
