Working exclusively with oil paints, students will learn how to prepare a surface, develop a solid sketch, and map out more complex value and color schemes to produce rich and colorful paintings. Intermediate Painting (ages 14+)
Take you observational painting skills to the next level. In this class we will work with more complex subjects. Still lives which emphasize materials such as reflective surfaces, intricate patterns, and detailed components will be set up to challenge the students’ abilities. Figure Drawing (ages 18+)
Learn to approach drawing as it pertains to the human figure. Line, volume, value, and proportion as well as the basics of anatomy will be covered. Polyester Plate Lithography Workshop (ages 14+)
Try printing without a press, chemicals, or prior experience! Join Ploch Art Gallery exhibiting artist Barry Roal Carlsen in this one-day workshop that will introduce printmaking concepts. Just come with your ideas, and leave with a small edition of hand-made prints.

Monotype Printmaking (ages 14+)
This printmaking process, in which only a single print is pulled from each plate, is ideal for those who enjoy drawing and painting. Using a variety of materials including watercolor and oil-based paints, you will explore both additive and reductive ways to create rich, colorful imagery on plate matrixes that you will then print with an intaglio press. Students of all levels and abilities are encouraged to join. Instructor: Michael Foster

Pottery and Platery (ages 18+)
In this course, learn to work with clays and glazes to create unique pots, plates, and other vessels using hand-building techniques. Students will explore slab, coil, mold, and sculpting processes, along with additional components such as handles and lids. Instructor: Brock Ruhmor
