L.A. Theatre Works: War of the Worlds & The Lost World

Join America’s premiere live radio theatre company for a special back-to-back double bill of chills, thrills, and great literature as they present two masterpieces of science fiction and adventure on stage Thursday, October 9, 8:00 pm.

A film classic complements a stage production! The Wilson Center is teaming up with the Times Cinema to present a special screening of the 1953 film War of the Worlds on Saturday and Sunday, October 4 and 5 at 1:30 pm. The Times Cinema is located at 5906 W. Vliet Street in Milwaukee. Tickets are $6 at the door. Open to the public.

L.A. Theatre Works, Susan Albert Loewenberg Producing Director, presents War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells, adapted by Howard Koch/The Lost World, written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, adapted by John de Lancie and Nat Sagaloff.

The Fashion Show to benefit the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts, Wednesday, October 8, 10:00 am

Now in its eighth year, the Wilson Center’s annual fashion show and luncheon attracts 500 guests from across the Milwaukee metro area. This year’s show will feature fashions from Andre Furs, GIGI of Mequon, m.e. Lou, Picardy Shoe Parlour, Suiters, and Zita. Hair and make-up provided by Studio 890. Get ready for fashion and the chance to bid on this year’s live auction items:

JEWELRY!  John Hardy cuff bracelet donated by Treiber & Straub Jewelers. Value: $950.

FUR!  Donated by Andre Furs. Value: $2500.

PARTY TIME!  A martini party with appetizers and dessert at your home for 24 friends.  Donated by Bartenders on the Go and Lee John’s Catering. Value: $1000.

HARLEY–DAVIDSON MANIA!  An exclusive, private behind-the-scenes tour of the new Harley-Davidson Museum and dinner at Water Buffalo. Donated by Harley-Davidson Motor Company and Hal’s Harley-Davidson. Value: $600.
