Southern singer-songwriter Lizz Wright crafts a distinct mixture of jazz, folk, gospel, and R&B, and is widely celebrated as a rising star. Come hear the warmth and resonance of Lizz's gospel-trained contralto at 7:00 pm on Saturday, July 24at the Wilson Center's Gerlach Outdoor Theater.

As Stephen Holden of The New York Times articulates, "Her voice, luminous and smoky and perfectly pitched, is one of the most wondrous rhythm-and-blues instruments of our time."

Delicious food and beverages are available for purchase from Haute Taco, North Star American Bistro, Loaf & Jug, and Bella Caffe. No pets. No carry-ins allowed. Rain or shine. Gates open at 5:30 pm.

Tickets $40 and $15; to purchase call the box office at (262) 781-9520 or visit wilson-center.com for more information about pricing.

This performance is presented by UBS Financial Services, Inc. with contributing support from WE Energies.

A bistro with a big heart

Many thanks to those of you who turned out for the 2nd annual Guest Chef Series at North Star American Bistro during the month of June. Whether it was your first time dining at North Star or you're a regular, you got a great meal from chef owner Duffy O'Neil and one of the four guest chefs while also supporting the Wilson Center. Duffy presented the Center's Individual Gifts Manager Gail Valenti with a check for $1,900 on Tuesday as a result—that's $10 from every plate sold!

The Wilson Center relies on support from individuals and community partners like North Star American Bistro. Don't forget North Star when making plans for your next evening out.

For more information about donating to the Wilson Center, contact Gail by email.
